Music and Party: Athelstan to Aldi
Supermarine Music and Athelstan 1100 Proudly Present: Athelstan to Aldi
A Book Reading and Album Listening Party
Supermarine Music are excited to launch ‘Athelstan to Aldi’; a collection of songs about the townsfolk of yesteryear by the townsfolk of today.
Local songwriters bring some of Malmesbury’s most colourful characters and infamous incidents back to life. Through song, You’ll hear the bones of the First King of England reanimated, Elmer the Flying Monk’s broken wings fixed, ‘gangsta monk’ John Tintern return to town, and Thomas Hobbes’ Leviathan awaken. Original, newly recorded tunes will transport you through time to witness momentous events in Malmesbury’s long and remarkable history. Events like the Abbey toilets getting running water, the day its spire fell over, the civil war, the witch trials, and the opening of Aldi.
Be the first to listen to the album and take a musical journey through Malmesbury’s history. Plus the event debut of Athelstan Ale!
Athelstan 1100 is proud that this priceless event is free to attend. Admittance by ticket only. Register now. 7:30pm for 8:00pm. Donations to Athelstan 1100 will be welcomed.
